We were interviewed on an article about Wifi, Technology & Facebook by the National Chinese Newspapers. It appeared on the Front page and page 5 of ZB Now.

The article describes how Live Photography was conceived in 2003 when had to lug around a notebook in a haversack to physically wire my camera to transfer the image. (I was in a suit and the notebook heating up in the haversack makes it hot & tiring). It also talks about out digital guestbook which featured the photo in Opening of B-One at The Singapore Marriott.

Wireless network present unlimited business opportunities

Besides the popular Facebook, WiFi is gaining ground rapidly in the past two years, bringing along enormous commercial opportunities. Creator and Photographer Willy Foo taps on his IT background and hence started LiveStudios.

Also a Facebook-er, Willy is the perpetual photographer for many local social events. His unique selling point is using WiFi to showcase the newly taken photos onto the big screen live on stage. WiFi also allows immediate print-outs of these images into customized wallet-sized photocards for guests as memory keepsakes.

A Computer Science graduate from National University of Singapore, Willy has been exploring the opportunities of wireless network. His technical expertise may have made him the very first high-tech photographer in local social scenes.

Recalling the start-up process, he commented, “I began research on wireless connection in 2003. Besides my camera, I had to lug around a notebook in a haversack to physically wire my camera to transfer the image. It’s really cumbersome. However with the advancement of wireless technology, I can now use WiFi to do it all efficiently, with negligible delay.”

Besides customizing the photocards with company logos, Willy also combines Facebook and Web 2.0 to create a “Live Album” as a online digital album. Event guests also get to sign off and doodle on their selection of album photos (”Digital Guestboook”, as shown in photo in article), and even download these images to their phones and other devices. These value-added services give Willy an advantaged edge over competitors and are separately charged.

Those who know me should know I was never good at mandarin. Si & Ping decided to create a custom back about their committment to each other.
 
The translucent border that Si suggested turned out really nice

They opted for laminating of the cards what were given to the guests and another copy to be pasted into a book for their guests to sign beside. (yes, the huge thing at the bottom is the laminating machine we had to lug around).

The Singapore Marriott has launched their staff only club and we were commissioned to do the shoots for them.

It’s the 3rd time in a week we’ve been shooting at The Ritz Carlton.
The couple opted for chief and senior photographer and cards with lamination.

The ballroom was nicely done up with petals lining the ailse huge table centrepieces.

The two screens in the ballroom was the centre of attraction projecting the photos taken on the spot.

The foyer area was also a popular spot for photography when couples would come out and take home a nice momento for themselves.

The Singapore Marriott launched a club for the welfare of their staff. They affectionately call it Club B2 and we have to admit it’s quite something to be jealous about.

It’s got not one game console but 2 of the hottest game consoles in the market; the Sony Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. 2 OSIM iDesire Massage chairs. A comfortable TV lounge, sleeping rooms, a nicely designed cafe, locker room with rain showers etc.. Wow..

They got us to do the full service including photocard printing for the staff and media guests as well as our digital guestbook. Here’s the owner, Mr Tang having his hands on the guestbook.

The staff and guests had their hands on the guestbook as well.

Yasmin from Gold 90.5fm did a live broadcast from Club B2. There was a news article on Straits Times as well.

We set one camera on colour and one on black and white to get candid shots.

SalesForce.com held their X’mas party @ Bar Cocoon in Clarke Quay. I loved the setup.. very nicely done..

They created ’snow’ and had santas to make it a whole lot of fun!

And of course santarinnas. We projected the images immediately on the big back projection screen at the venue.

And on the plasma screens as well!

Guests had a great time posing with Santa.

One lucky girl even celebrated her birthday! Happy Birthday Jaslin!

Held at Furama City Centre Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to find a newly renovated ballroom and foyer, great light panels that makes photography easy and great projectors too! 

They had new powerful projectors too which makes the photos stunning

They had their try at our new Digital Guestbook This one is more sensitive, larger writing area, and can handle many fanciful styles !!
