LiveSMS on New Years Day

1 01 2009

Happy 2009!

LiveStudios had a fantastic year with a total of 723 photoshoots in 2008. We look forward to a more challenging year ahead and wish all our clients, partners and friends a good year ahead.

The first day of 2009 started with a wedding lunch using our LiveSMS services. We’ve made improvements on the LiveSMS service by being able to control the size of the scrolling display at the bottom of the screen as well as having instructions printed on every table at the wedding.

John & Tjin

10 05 2008

It is one of those crazy days when we have 4 shoots in one day. And I had to start off early as well.. fortunately not too early at 9am at Tjin’s house. The video summarises what happened in the day.

John came by in a white Audi R8 to pickup his bride.

Wedding of Daniel Ong & Jaime Teo

13 04 2008

Daniel & Jaime were hosting the Style Weddings Glamour Bash at the Raffles Ballroom for the whole day before they had their own wedding in the evening.

WIN_0151

The wedding gown is by Ted Wu (http://www.ted-wu.com) and it converts into 3 different looks as the night goes on.

LKV_3002

They decided to be emcees for their own wedding too.. as they said, the best emcees in town were all guests at the dinner and they wanted to let them enjoy the evening.

LKV_3268

Many familiar faces turned up including deejays, singers, actors/actresses and fashion choreographer, Daniel Boey, who was also doing the runway choreography for the Style Weddings bridal fashion show just hours ago.

WIM_9981

Photos were projected onto the screen live and we incorporated our new LiveSMS mechanism for the first time. Guests could send in their well-wishes via SMS and the messages will appear on a scrolling bar at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, we realise too that the text was too small to see at the back of the ballroom.

WIN_0907-sms

Guests were pleased with a lot of their candid as well as posed shots in photocards which were handed to them personally by our staff.

Cui & Lee

12 04 2008

Those who have been following our blogs probably know I’m a sucker for touching wedding speeches.. This one has gone completely off the scale!! The couple spared no effort in planning for the wedding. They scripted a wedding video clip based on ‘the amazing race’. Here they are peeping at the video before doing the march-in.

WIM_8699

The video was really entertaining and the videographer did a great job in capturing the actual day footages to fit into the script. Their march in was really fun as well, they got the whole crowd cheering and did a little dance right in the middle :)

WIM_8744

WIM_8917

They suggested the idea of printing the photos of neo-print stickers so that the guests could sign beside their stickers in the guestbook.

WIM_8866

Their wedding invite also had some space for ‘people we’ve met at the wedding’ and they pasted the neo-print on each others invites.

Wedding of Andrea & David in Sydney

29 03 2008

It’s been a hectic few weeks and haven’t been able to update the blogs with our shooting and traveling schedules. Just came back from LA/Las Vegas and didn’t have a chance to spend a night in Singapore before having to fly to Sydney for a wedding. Tiring, but the trip was well worth it. I had such a great time shooting Andrea & David that I didn’t feel the fatigue or hunger till the day after.

The hotel we were staying in is the Sebel @ Pier One, just under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You couldn’t ask for a better location. Sydney is also one of the more picturesque cities for photography and not too far away from Singapore.

WIM_3846

Being at the pier, they decided to do the makeup just outside their suite right at the pier, you could see the reflections of pier 2 in the sliding door.

WIM_4030

The whole atmosphere was full of laughter right from the start. Just for the preparation alone, I took almost 900 shots… I usually have time to filter and remove the duplicate shots but everyone was so energised that I couldn’t stop shooting.

WIM_4615

One of the nephews of the couple, Matthew was looking at the bride doing the makeup through the glass, I went up and captured him smiling.

The groom surprised the bride with 2 rolls royce to fetch her to the chinese gardens.

WIM_4956

The convertible gave us some fun photoshoot opportunities.

WIM_5855

The bridal party had lots of fun participating in the shoot as well.

Russel & Melissa’s Coffee Table Album

14 01 2008

Shooting at OLPS (Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour) again reminded me of a shoot I did for Russel & Melissa sometime back. I personally laid out a coffee table album for them. This was a 8″ by 10″ album.

Peter . Adriene

12 01 2008

We’ve been so busy lately we didn’t have much chance to update our blog much. Our current shoot for SIA in the new Changi Terminal 3 and two trips overseas will be keeping us busy for the whole of January. Most of the live shoots now are handled by the senior photographers while I stay back in office to do D.I. work :( Working 20 hrs a day with shoots for SIA at wee hours in the morning.. I am tired.

However, it’s those touching stories of love I get to experience during weddings that keeps me motivated and keeping people happy on the most important day of their life assures me that I’m doing something meaningful. Peter and Adriene is one of these couples. 2 successful lawyers, the bride with a strong passion for dance and the groom with such love that goes out of his way besides his busy schedule to make his bride happy. Their speeches during the dinner moved me to tears. I’m just glad I’ve got a camera in front of my face to hide them.

Peter & Adriene

The best man’s father in law graciously insisted that they took one of his prized cars, the Rolls Royce as their bridal car.

The church solemnisation was done in OLPS. Adriene was such a natural in flipping the dress.. must be the dance training she had :)

Si & Ping at The Fullerton

22 12 2007

Those who know me should know I was never good at mandarin. Si & Ping decided to create a custom back about their committment to each other.

The translucent border that Si suggested turned out really nice :)

They opted for laminating of the cards what were given to the guests and another copy to be pasted into a book for their guests to sign beside. (yes, the huge thing at the bottom is the laminating machine we had to lug around).

Jonathan & Germaine @ The Ritz Carlton

15 12 2007

It’s the 3rd time in a week we’ve been shooting at The Ritz Carlton.
The couple opted for chief and senior photographer and cards with lamination.

The ballroom was nicely done up with petals lining the ailse huge table centrepieces.

The foyer area was also a popular spot for photography when couples would come out and take home a nice momento for themselves.
